About Affordly
Affordly exists because of one gap: search for a home loan calculator in India and almost every result — bank websites included — shows you the maximum a lender might approve. That number is calculated to answer "what could this person repay if nothing goes wrong," not "what would this person actually be comfortable paying every month for the next 20 years."
The Affordability Calculator asks the second question instead. It applies the same bank-style FOIR check as a sanity ceiling, but layers a lower, more conservative cap on top of it, and sets aside a safety buffer from your monthly surplus before recommending an EMI. The full methodology — the exact caps and why — is laid out on that page itself, nothing is hidden behind this explanation.
If you already know the loan amount you're considering and just want the EMI for it, the EMI Calculator does that directly — it works forward (amount, rate, tenure → EMI) rather than backward from your finances.
Nothing you enter into either calculator is stored, logged, or sent anywhere — every calculation happens in your browser. See the Privacy Policy for the specifics.
